Festarch in Perugia and Assisi from 02 to 05 June 2011

Generale Prefabbricati Spa proudly announces that they will be sponsoring “Festarch 2011” an event which will include involvement from the Umbrian capital Perugia and the city of Assisi from 2 to 5 June 2011.
Thanks to the involvement of Generale Prefabbricati Spa, Umbria will welcome one of the most important worldwide architecture events, conceived by Stefano Boeri, editor of Abitare magazine, and organised by RCS Periodici.  The Festival will transform Perugia and Assisi into epicentres of architecture, design and reflections on the future of our urban societies.
For four days, the most representative streets and squares of Assisi and Perugia will host performances and interviews with architects, designers, artists, and some of the most important thinkers on the international scene, in a continuous dialogue with the business, professional and educational worlds.
To achieve this, the most important architects of the world have been invited: Chilean Alejandro Aravena (Silver Lion at the Biennale of Venezia in 2009), David Adjaye from Tanzania, founder of the Adjaya Associates studio in London which is constructing the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, the Swiss Jacques Herzog (Tate Modern in London, National Stadium in Beijing, Caixa Forum in Madrid), French Jean Nouvel, well-known in Umbria for having created the city’s monorail, William McDonough, American, with a career studded with awards and, currently, professor of civil and environmental engineering at Stanford University, the Brit Norman Foster (Galleria Sperone in New York e the famous Swiss Re hq “pine cone” in London), Rem Koolhaas of Rotterdam , ex-journalist and screenwriter-cum-architect (The House of Music in Porto, the Cctv Tower in Beijing and many other Prada brand buildings), Renzo Piano, the 34-year-old Italian architect who created the Centre Pompidou in Paris and Iraqi Zaha Hadid.
